1. Consumer Reporting Agency

RentFAX is a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. RentFAX assembles and furnishes consumer reports to vehicle-rental operators for use in connection with a renter-initiated vehicle-rental transaction and other lawful, disclosed, rental-related uses permitted by law.

2. Permitted Uses — Vehicle Rental Only

RentFAX reports are made available solely for vehicle-rental screening and related lawful vehicle-rental purposes, including identity verification, fraud prevention, extensions, renewals, damage claims, charge disputes, and vehicle recovery where permitted by law. RentFAX reports are not offered or authorized for employment screening, tenant or housing eligibility, credit underwriting, insurance underwriting, or any other impermissible use. Each operator must certify its permissible purpose before requesting a report.

3. Operators Make Rental Decisions

RentFAX does not make rental decisions. The vehicle-rental operator reviews the report and applies its own rental criteria. If an operator takes adverse action based in whole or in part on a RentFAX report, that operator, not RentFAX, is responsible for providing any notice required by applicable law.

4. Accuracy and Dispute Rights

RentFAX maintains reasonable procedures designed to assure maximum possible accuracy of information included in its reports. Consumers may request access to information about themselves and may dispute the accuracy or completeness of any item. RentFAX will review disputes and reinvestigate, correct, delete, or suppress information as required by applicable law.

5. Automated Tools

RentFAX may use automated tools to organize information, detect inconsistencies, or highlight patterns for review. These tools are intended to support operator review and do not replace the operator’s independent judgment. RentFAX does not authorize any operator to rely solely on an automated output where law or policy requires review of the underlying report information.

6. No Legal, Financial, or Risk-Management Advice

Information made available through the Services is not legal, financial, insurance, or risk-management advice. Users should consult their own professional advisers regarding legal or operational obligations.

7. Scope

RentFAX currently offers vehicle-rental screening services in the United States, beginning in New York. Service availability, workflow requirements, and legal obligations may vary by jurisdiction.
